Moderate climate and varied terrain combine to make Kelowna an excellent golf venue. Long dry summers and short winters extend the golfing season: Locals first appear at the driving range in March and are still teeing up in early- to mid-November. Flat creeksides, rolling orchards, arid grasslands, and forested mountainsides provide a range of challenges to golfers. Appropriate club selection is not the only big decision with more than a dozen 18-hole courses located within a 30km/18.6mi radius of downtown Kelowna.
